Phillips Wellbeing backs Velindre's 'Show Cancer the V' challenge and calls on runners to sign up

July 2nd 2026

Phillips Wellbeing is encouraging people across South Wales to lace up their running shoes and take part in this summer's Show Cancer the V Fun Run in support of Velindre Cancer Charity.

The Cardiff-based wellbeing specialist is a Gold partner of the event, which takes place on Sunday 19th July at Bute Park, Cardiff, and aims to raise vital funds for Velindre's life-changing work supporting cancer patients and their families across Wales.

As part of its partnership, Phillips Wellbeing is supporting the event's wellbeing provision, including the Wellbeing Tent, where participants and supporters will have access to activities and advice designed to promote physical and mental wellbeing throughout the day.

The company is also sponsoring the event's support runners, who help participants complete the challenge safely and confidently. And if they’re not required, the resource will be redirected to tail walkers and litter pickers.

The event is expected to attract hundreds of runners and supporters, including Velindre Cancer Charity President Jonathan "Jiffy" Davies, and Patrons Rhod Gilbert and Sam Warburton, both of whom have confirmed they will be taking part.

Phillips Wellbeing has also secured 20 participant places as part of its partnership agreement and is now encouraging individuals, businesses and community groups to get involved and help raise funds for one of Wales' most cherished charities.

Wayne Phillips, Founder of Phillips Wellbeing, said: "Velindre holds a special place in the hearts of so many people across Wales, including our team. We've worked closely with the charity for many years and have seen first-hand the incredible impact it has on patients and their families.

"That's why we're proud to support Show Cancer the V. The event perfectly aligns with our mission of promoting wellbeing, resilience and community, while raising vital funds for a truly exceptional cause.

"We'd love to see as many people as possible sign up and join us on the day, whether you're an experienced runner or simply looking to take on a personal challenge while supporting an important cause."

The Wellbeing Tent will provide a dedicated space for participants to relax, recharge and access wellbeing-focused activities, reflecting the company's commitment to supporting both physical and mental health.

Kylie McKee, Head of Fundraising and Relationships at Velindre Cancer Charity said: "We're incredibly grateful to Phillips Wellbeing for their generous support of our first ever Show Cancer the V Fun Run. Their sponsorship is helping us create a fantastic experience for participants while raising funds that will make a real difference to people affected by cancer across South Wales and beyond.

"We're looking forward to welcoming runners of all abilities to what promises to be a memorable and inspiring event."

Show Cancer the V Fun Run takes place on Sunday 19th July in Bute Park, Cardiff, with participants raising money to support Velindre's specialist services, research and patient care initiatives.
